Nice, very clean campground with pool, lazy river, kiddie area, pickleball court, pond, wooded walking path, workout room, pool bar, and restaurant. We came back in 2024 for an extended-family Thanksgiving with Breanna's husband, Kyle's, family.
We took an Old Town Trolley Tour which was very informative and we were able to hop on and off. It is a great way to learn the history of the area. There are a lot of restaurants and shopping along the water. Our tour took us past the church where, in the Forrest Gump movie, the feather floated down. This was our first encounter with something "Forrest Gump" related (see Monument Valley UT).
An amazing park to people watch, get a bite to eat, play in the grassy field, or simply walk. Dogs allowed.
This was at the South Georgia State Fair grounds, right next to our campground. Lots of cool light displays.
Very interesting museum about prohibition. There were several kiosks downtown selling tickets.
Great place to eat inside or out. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area.
Do not be scared away by the line outside the shop. It is ALWAYS there. The ice cream is very good and, hence, the line. The founder has quite an interesting history involving Hollywood movies.
